What is the problem :
Hey, let’s talk about what other Jenkins issue you would have faced during your day to day work. I am trying to explain what other Jenkins issue came during my day to day work. So one of them is unable to find valid certification path to requested target error while importing Git repository.
Why is the problem : unable to find valid certification path to requested target
The problem occurred why because you may have installed Jenkins on a firewall restricted machine. the security is a core concern in this machine. The issue is that the Jenkins instance is trying to find a authorised certificate to access the git repo, since the machine do not have authority to connect to github with a certificate.
Solution to the problem : unable to find valid certification path to requested target
You may have two solutions to this, you can add the required certificate or you may go in Jenkins web UI go to Manage Jenkins > Manage Plugins > tab Available and search for “skip-certificate-check” plugin.
Its worked for me. hopefully this is going to resolve your problem as well. Install the skip-certificate-check plugin and it will work. If you have trouble installing the plugin on plugin manager, as you are facing the certificate issue. You have got another way of working. use wget updates.jenkins.io/download/plugins/skip-certificate-check/1.0/… to $JENKINS_HOME/plugins and restart the machine.
I hope by now you would have fixed the issues. You can checkout our other blogs on the Jenkins
